How To Cook Chinese Black Pepper Shrimps


Ingredients

Stir Fry 


  • 3/4 tablespoons neutral oil
  • 1/4 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined) 

  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 1/8 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1/4 medium bell peppers (chopped into 1 1/2 inch chunks)
Black Pepper Sauce

  • 1/8 cup chicken stock (or water)
  • 1/4 tablespoon oyster sauce 
  • 1/4 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine all the black pepper sauce ingredients and set it aside.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or saucepan over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimps in two batches, cooking each batch on both sides for 30 seconds. Transfer them to a plate, leaving the oil behind. 

  3. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil, ginger and garlic. Stir-fry it for 10 seconds. 

    Add onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry them for another 2 minutes. 


  4. Stir the sauce mixture and then add it to the wok. Continue to stir-fry it untill it starts bubbling. 


  5. Return the cooked shrimps to the wok and mix everything well together for 1 minute. 

  6. Serve the dish immediately!
