How To Cook Braised Pork Belly


Ingredients

  • 200 grams pork belly
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Ingredients B

  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 piece crystal rock sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 bulb garlic, with skin intact
  • 1 hard-boiled egg 


Instructions
  1. Marinate Ingredients A together on a plate. 


  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok over medium heat. Pan fry the pork belly untill golden brown. 


  3. Add Ingredients B to wok and mix well. 

  4. Bring it to a boil and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes untill the sauce thickens. 

  5. Turn off the heat. Cut the pork belly into strips before serving.
