How to Cook Sauteed Sausage and Spinach


Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 lb sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1/2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 ounces fresh spinach
  • 1/4 lemon
  • 1/16 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/16 teaspoon pepper
Tip: Wash the spinach leaves in a bowl under a cold running tap. Then tip it into a colander or
       sieve to drain. Pick off any woody stem-ends from the leaves. You can use a knife and
       chopping board for this. Somehow, you can also tear off the stems since they are soft
       enough. 

Instructions
  1. Heat a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add oil, sausage and garlic. 


  3. Zest the lemon and set it aside.
  4. Juice the lemon and set it aside.
  5. Add the spinach, lemon juice, zest and chicken broth to the pan. 

  6. Cover the pan and allow it to cook untill the spinach is cooked through for about 5 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, toss the spinach.
  7. Season it with salt and pepper. 


  8. Serve the dish immediately.
