Ingredients
- 3 cups of water
- 1 whole head of garlic
- 500 grams pork belly, cut into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon white peppercorn, smashed and cracked. (Used cumin powder as a substitute)
- 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce, kecap manis
- 1.5 tablespoon dark soy sauce, add more for your desired color.
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat up a big pot or saucepan with 3 cups of water. Bring it to a boil.
- Lower the heat to medium and braise the pork for 30 minutes or so or untill the pork belly is cooked through and become tender.
- Continue to simmer it at the lowest heat for another 15 to 20 minutes.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
