How To Cook Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

 


Ingredients

  • Beef, thinly sliced into cubes
  • 0.25 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (divided use)
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 0.06 cup oyster sauce
  • 0.06 cup beef broth or water
  • 0.25 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon cornstarch
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets and cook it for approximately 4 minutes or untill tender. 

  2. Add the ginger and garlic to the wok and cook for 30 seconds more. 
  3. Remove the broccoli from the wok, place it on a plate and cover. 

  4. Wipe the wok clean with a paper towel and turn the heat to high. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
  5. Season the beef cubes with salt and pepper and add them to the wok in a single layer. Cook it for 3-4 minutes on each side untill browned and cooked through. 

  6. Add the broccoli mixture back to the pan and cook it for 2 minutes or untill warmed through. 
  7. In a bowl, whisk together the oyster sauce, beef broth, sugar, sesame oil and light soy sauce. In a small bowl, mix the corn starch with a tablespoon of cold water. 


  8. Pour the oyster sauce mixture over the cooked beef and broccoli florets. Cook it for 30 seconds. 

  9. Add the cornstarch slurry and bring it to a boil. Cook for 1 more minute or untill the sauce thickens. 

  10. Serve it immediately with rice as desired.
