How to Cook Cabbage in Sweet and Sour Sauce

 


Ingredients
  • 3/4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/8 cup onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cabbage, cut into 1/4 inch strips
  • 1 1/4 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped coarsely
  • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a 10 to 12 inch skillet.
  2. Add onion and cook it over medium heat. Stir it constantly for 2 to 3 minutes. 

  3. When the onions are transparent and not brown, stir in the cabbage , tomatoes. cider vinegar, salt and a few pinches of pepper. 


  4. Let it simmer, stirring it frequently for 20 minutes or untill the cabbage is tender. 

  5. Stir in the sugar and cook another 1 to 2 minutes longer. 

  6. Serve the food in a heated bowl or plate.
