There is a perfect way to use relatively inexpensive vegetables such as cabbage and carrot to cook them. A lovely side dish which is a very quick and easy recipe to prepare with simple fresh ingredients.
1/2 head cabbage (finely shredded)
1 carrot (shredded)
2 garlic cloves
4 shiitake mushrooms, stemmed and sliced
1/2 medium onion (finely chopped)
1/2 teaspoon fresh (minced) ginger
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon canola oil
Recipe
- Heat canola oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook it untill soft.
- Add ginger and garlic, cook and stirring it frequently for 1 minute.
- Add carrots, cabbage, shitake mushrooms, salt and black pepper.
- Cook it for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the vinegar and stir to combine all the ingredients together.
- Serve the dish immediately.
