How To Cook Vegetable Stir Fry


Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup carrot slices
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped red pepper
Instructions
  1. Combine pineapple juice, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch and light soy sauce into a bowl. 

  2. In a large saucepan, heat up olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onion, broccoli, carrots and celery. 

  4. Stir and cook it for about 2 minutes. 

  5. Add the red bell peppers. 

  6. Stir and and cover the pan and cook it for one minute. 

  7. Add the sauce mixture. Bring it to a boil and cook it for another minute more. Cover it again. 

  8. Serve it immediately. 


 

How To Cook Beansprouts With Chinese Sausage and Egg


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of beansprouts, rinsed
  • 1 Chinese sausage, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig spring onion, sectioned
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat wok on medium-low heat and put 1 tablespoon oil in it..
  2. Add in the Chinese sausage and fry it gently untill it starts to release oil.  

  3. Push them to the side. Turn heat to high. Add in garlic and fry it untill fragrant, taking care not to burn the sausage. 

  4. Push the sausage back into the oil and crack the egg in. Scramble it untill the egg is cooked. 
  5. Add in the beansprouts, salt and pepper. Cook it for a minute or two. Not too long though or the beansprouts will turn soggy. 

  6. Add in spring onion. Toss everything together and turn off the heat. 

  7. Serve the dish immediately.

How To Cook Char Kway Teow

 


Ingredients

  • 250 grams fresh wide rice noodle
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 5 small prawns/ shrimps
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/2 Chinese sausage
  • 1 piece fried fish cake
  • 10 stems spring onions, cut into 4 - 6 pieces
  • 1.25 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 egg
Sauce
  • 2.5 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoon kecap manis / sweet soy sauce
Instructions
  1. Mix all the sauce ingredients together.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a  large skillet over high heat. Swirl it around it.
  3. Add prawns when the oil start cooking for 30 seconds.
  4. Add garlic and stir it for 10 seconds. 

  5. Add noodles. Using both hands on the handle with a spatula + wooden spoon. toss it 4 times untill it is coated with oil.
  6. Add Chinese sausage and fish cakes. Toss or gently fold it 4 times. 

  7. Add bean sprouts and spring onions. Toss or gently fold it 6 times. 

  8. Push everything to one side. Add 1 remaining tablespoon oil. 
  9. Add egg and cook it for about 1 minute. Use the wooden spoon to chop it up roughly.
  10. Pour sauce over the noodles. Toss to disperse the sauce through the noodles. Pause between tosses to give the noodles a chance to caramelise on the edges.
  11. Serve it immediately.
