How To Cook Chinese Prawn Stir Fry

 


Ingredients

  • 750 grams whole prawns (peeled, deveined)
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 spring onion (chopped and separate the green and white parts)
  • 4.5 slices ginger
  • 7.5 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons rice wine
Instructions

  1. Add oil, ginger, the white part of the spring onions and garlic in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Fry it untill it turns slightly golden. 

  2. Turn up the heat and add soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of rice wine, followed by the prawns. 

  3. Stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes untill the prawns are completely cooked through. 

  4. Stir in the green part of the spring onion and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of rice wine. 

  5. Turn off the heat. Serve it with rice or noodles.







How To Make French Toast

 


Ingredients
  • 6 slices of white sandwich bread
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter 
Egg Mixture
  • 2 large eggs
  • 125 ml of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 
Serving
  • Maple syrup butter
Instructions
  1. Whisk together egg mixture in a bowl. 

  2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Dunk a piece of bread quickly into the egg mixture, coating both sides of it. Then place it in the pan. Repeat with more slices to fill the pan. But avoid overcrowding it. Best to do2 or 3 pieces at a time. 

  4. Cook it for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on each side untill the surface turns golden, then transfer it to a serving plate.
  5. Add more butter into the pan and cook the remaining bread.
  6. Serve it with butter and maple syrup (if you like). Or strawberries & 1 tablespoon of white sugar.

  7. Alternatively, you can pick your choice of toppings such as kaya, sardine, jam or peanut butter. 

  8. Serve and enjoy.

How To Cook Super Easy Stir-Fried Cabbage



Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound shredded cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine
Instructions
  1. Heat up vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-heat. Stir in garlic and cook it untill it begins to brown for about 5 seconds. 

  2. Stir in cabbage untill coated in the oil. Cover the wok and cook it for 1 minute. 

  3. Pour in light soy sauce, cook and stir it for another minute. 

  4. Increase the heat to high and stir in Chinese cooking wine. 

  5. Cook and stir it untill the cabbage is tender about 2 more minutes. 
  6. Serve and Enjoy.



How To Cook Crispy Fried Chicken Drumsticks

 


Ingredients

 
  • 6 chicken drumsticks / legs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Enough oil for deep-frying
Instructions
  1. Combine the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chilli powder, salt and black pepper in a large bowl and set it aside. 

  2. Whisk together the milk, egg, pinch of salt and pepper to taste in a separate bowl. Set it aside. 

  3. Dip each chicken piece first into the seasoned flour, transfer it to the milk mixture and egg mixture. And finally, back into the flour again. 

  4. Heat the oil to 350 degree F and gently place the coated chicken drumsticks inside the hot oil. Fry on medium heat untill they turn golden brow, crispy on the outside and fully cooked. Flip the drumsticks between each fry cycle.

  5. Remove from heat and drain them on some paper towels to remove the excess oil. 

 




How To Cook Easy Chinese Cabbage Soup

 


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 slices fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon dried shrimps (washed and soaked for 30 minutes)
  • 1-2 cups washed and chopped cabbage
  • 1 litre of cube chicken stock dissolved in water
  • 1 carrot cut into rounds
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
Instruction
  1. Heat oil till over high heat. Stir fry ginger and dried shrimps till fragrant
  2. Add the sliced cabbage to the pot. Do not stir it for 1 minute. Allow the leaves and ginger to char a bit for a more flavourful taste.

  3. Pour in the stock slowly and bring it to a boil on medium-high heat. Add in the sliced carrots.

  4. Once the soup boils, lower the heat to medium and allow it to simmer for 15 minutes. 

  5. Just 5 minutes before turning off the fire. Season it with white pepper.
  6. Serve and Enjoy.

Salmon, Shrimp, Cheesy Broccoli with Corn

 


Ingredients




For the Salmon and Shrimps:
  • 2 Salmon fillets (about 150 grams each)
  • 200 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • salt & pepper to taste
For the Cheesy Broccoli:
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Salt & pepper to taste
For the Corn:
  • 2 ears of corn, husked and cut into halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, season the salmon by mixing 1 tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, dried dill, salt & pepper. Brush the mixture over the salmon fillets.


  2. Steam the salmon fillets for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Toss the shrimps in the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt and pepper. Fry them till they turn pink and opaque.

  4. To prepare the cheesy broccoli, steam the florets untill tender about 5 to 7 minutes. 

  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add in the milk and stir it constantly untill the mixture thickens.

  6. Remove it from heat and stir in the shredded cheese untill it melts and smooth. Season it with salt & pepper to taste. Toss the steamed broccoli in the cheese sauce. 


  7. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the corn and cook it for 5-7 minutes untill tender. 

  8. Assemble all the cooked ingredients onto a blg platter dish. Serve it immediately.
